Heavy Snow Can Harm Your Furnace

Heavy Snow Can Harm Your Furnace

Freezing cold even inside the comfort of your home? Maybe a snow drift is blocking your furnace vent.

Clear all vents around your home of snow drifts, otherwise your furnace may shut off automatically. This is a built in safety of newer furnaces to protect you from a harmful build up of harmful carbon monoxide. If you have an older furnace that does not have an automatic shut off feature then please make sure you have a properly functioning carbon monoxide detector.

Not sure about any of this? Call Affordable Plumbing and heat to schedule an inspection of your furnace system. We can make sure your unit is in proper working order, correct any maintenance issues you may be experiencing and ensure you are prepared for the next big storm which is forecast to be just days away.
