While summer may seem like it’s coming to a close, it’s never too late to conserve water. As the thermometer is getting higher, so is our water bill.
It is always important to conserve water, but with these temperatures it is even more crucial. There are many things you can do in your own home to help conserve water now and year round.
Set a limit for the length of showers.
By limiting how long you spend in the shower, you get to conserve water and save money. And save time getting out the door in the morning! If your shower time is precious, you can always change out your old showerhead to a new water-saving showerhead. At Affordable Plumbing and Heat, we believe that no project is too small. We can help you install a new showerhead. We can also advise you on other water-saving appliances such as a low-flow toilet or washing machines.
Use your bath towels more than once.
Towels require lots of water to be laundered in the washing machine. A bath towel can be reused many times before it really needs to get washed. Not only does this save water, but also saves you time doing laundry. Now who doesn’t want to do less laundry?
Do less laundry.
Not only can you do less laundry but reusing towels, but there are other ways to reduce the time you spend doing laundry. Is that blouse you wore yesterday really that dirty? Use your best judgment, but many clothes can be reworn before laundering.
